We paid 350 euros for a bar extension,....till 2.30pm.The night of
the wedding, the DJ was told to
finish at 1.30, as the bar was closing. When we queried the bar
closure with the manager, he told
us that they never have a bar extension until 2.30, and we were
incorrectly informed. In the end, he left the bar open until 2.00
and the
DJ played until 2.00 a.m. The day after the wedding, the wedding
co-ordinator informed us that we
were to be charged an extra 750 euros for room hire as our
numbers had fallen. On no occasion before the wedding had we
been told about the possibility of this extra charge, and it was not
in the Terms and Conditions that we had signed. As we had
prepaid,the hotel had our money
and were refusing to refund it. I had a meeting with the Manager,
and was told that they were entitled to charge us the money..... I
sent all documents to Small Claims Court, and eventually
received a refund from the hotel.
All in all, I think the Setanta House Hotel is very badly run.... The
day itself was great, but I could have done without the hassle that
followed.
